Blacksburg, VA – Rain is on the way for Blacksburg this week, with a wet midweek ahead and cooler temperatures expected by the weekend.

According to the National Weather Service, Tuesday will be partly sunny with a high of 58°F, but clouds will build overnight. A slight chance of rain moves in Tuesday night, with a low near 39°F. Rain chances increase Wednesday, with showers likely in the afternoon and temperatures reaching 49°F.

By Wednesday night, steady rain is expected, with an 80% chance of precipitation and a low of 44°F. Thursday will bring even heavier showers, with a high near 66°F and gusty winds possible. Rain tapers off slightly by Thursday night, but scattered showers remain in the forecast heading into Friday.

Looking ahead, Friday will be partly sunny with a high of 54°F before another round of rain arrives Saturday. Expect temperatures to hover in the low 50s over the weekend with a 50% chance of rain Saturday and into the night.

Drivers should be cautious on wet roads, especially along U.S. Route 460 and Interstate 81, where visibility may be reduced.
