Virginia State Police Investigate Mysterious Death on I-395 in Alexandria

Alexandria, VA – Virginia State Police are seeking public assistance in their investigation into the suspicious death of a 66-year-old Reston man on Thursday night. The incident occurred on August 8, 2024, when police responded to a medical emergency on the northbound shoulder of I-395 near Seminary Road. The call came in around 8:30 p.m. involving a silver 2005 BMW sedan.

When troopers arrived at the scene, medical personnel were actively treating one of the vehicle’s occupants while assisting a second individual. Despite their efforts, the 66-year-old male succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital.

According to the Virginia State Police, the man’s remains were transported to the Office of the Medical Examiner, where an autopsy revealed that he had died from a severe injury. Authorities have classified the death as suspicious and are now calling on the public for any information or video footage that could shed light on the circumstances surrounding the incident.
