Norfolk, VA – Scattered showers and springlike warmth are expected to dominate Southeastern Virginia and Northeastern North Carolina through Monday, as a cold front advances across the region.

According to the National Weather Service in Wakefield, VA, showers began moving in late Monday morning and are forecast to continue into the afternoon. Southeastern areas including Norfolk, Franklin, and Elizabeth City, NC will experience highs in the lower to mid-70s before the front pushes eastward.

The Piedmont region to the northwest will remain significantly cooler due to lingering cloud cover, with cities like Richmond and Emporia seeing highs only in the low to mid-60s. Winds remain light, but the shift in temperatures could bring brief gusts as the system passes.

Conditions will improve later in the evening, with drier air behind the cold front clearing skies across much of the region by late Monday night.

Drivers are encouraged to use caution during afternoon commutes as roadways may become slick in areas of steady rainfall. Residents should prepare for cooler temperatures overnight and into Tuesday morning as the front settles offshore.

Stay updated through the National Weather Service and local emergency management for any changes to the forecast.
