Thunderstorms with heavy rain and damaging wind gusts are also forecasted, particularly in areas west of I-95.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS), the excessive heat warning will be in effect until noon on Wednesday. The current temperature in Wakefield is 78 degrees, with a high expected to reach 95 degrees later today. Thunderstorms are likely to develop this afternoon, bringing potential relief from the heat but also posing risks of flash flooding and strong winds.

The forecast for the rest of the week shows a slight cooling trend, with highs in the 90s and a chance of rain on Thursday and Friday.
