Burlington, VT – Snow showers lingering across Vermont are expected to taper off tonight, bringing a much-needed reprieve from wintry conditions. Winds are forecast to ease, but icy roads may still impact Friday morning travel.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Burlington, light snow will continue through Thursday afternoon, gradually ending between 10 p.m. and 1 a.m. Friday. Gusty northwest winds, reaching up to 26 mph, will gradually calm overnight. Temperatures are expected to drop into the low teens Thursday night, creating a wind chill near -3°F. Drivers should remain cautious of slick patches, especially on secondary roads and bridges.

Friday brings brighter skies, with mostly sunny conditions and a high near 26°F. Winds will shift northwest at 5 to 7 mph, offering a brief respite from the recent storm. By Friday night, temperatures will dip to around 15°F under mostly cloudy skies, with a slight chance of light snow returning early Saturday morning.

The weekend forecast shows mixed conditions, with a 50% chance of snow Saturday and high temperatures in the mid-20s. Sunday will be partly sunny and slightly warmer, peaking at 29°F. Looking ahead, snow showers could return Monday as temperatures climb to the low 30s.

Residents should stay updated on weather developments and allow extra time for travel Friday morning.
