Burlington, VT – Vermont is experiencing a heatwave as the hot start to August continues with temperatures forecasted to remain in the mid to upper 80s. Burlington recorded temperatures of 90°F on Thursday and 91°F on Friday. According to the US National Weather Service, the high temperatures will persist, with a forecast of 87°F for Sunday.
This trend extends to other parts of Vermont, with Saranac Lake seeing temperatures in the mid-80s and Montpelier reaching highs of 87°F. Plattsburgh and Rutland are also experiencing similar weather patterns with temperatures peaking around 88°F and 87°F respectively.
According to the US National Weather Service, this warm weather will continue through the week. Sunday’s forecast predicts a high of 85°F with a 55% chance of rain. The start of the week will bring cooler temperatures, with a high of 76°F on Monday and a 60% chance of rain. Tuesday and Wednesday will see temperatures drop to the low 70s, offering some relief from the heat.
By Thursday, temperatures are expected to climb back to the upper 70s, with highs of 77°F. The week will conclude with Friday’s temperatures hovering around 79°F and a slight chance of rain.
