Vermillion County, IN – Drivers in northern Vermillion County will encounter new lane closures and traffic shifts beginning today on State Road 63, near its intersection with Interstate 74.
According to the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT), the changes are part of the final phase of the reduced conflict intersection (RCI) project at State Road 63 and I-74. Crews will shift traffic back to its original pattern, with the left northbound and southbound lanes closed while finishing construction work.
The work zone is located just south of Cayuga, near Sycamore Lane and County Road 1550 North. INDOT officials said the project is designed to improve safety and traffic flow at the busy intersection, which has been under construction since earlier this year.
Motorists should anticipate slower travel times and lane restrictions over the coming weeks. INDOT advises drivers to reduce speeds, stay alert in the work zone, and plan extra time when traveling through the area.
The final phase of construction is expected to be completed by mid-October, weather permitting. Until then, drivers can expect intermittent lane closures and adjustments as crews finish paving and road improvements.
For more information and updates, INDOT is directing drivers to its official project page.
