Danville, IL – An 18-year-old Danville man has been charged in connection with a November 2024 triple shooting that left two people dead and another injured, according to the Danville Police Department.
According to the Danville Police Department, the shooting occurred on Nov. 27, 2024, at approximately 2:45 p.m., in the 1900 block of East Main Street.
Authorities said the shooting claimed the lives of 33-year-old Keith G. Stone of Danville and a 17-year-old juvenile. A third victim was injured and has since been released from the hospital.
Police announced that on July 3, 2026, officers arrested 18-year-old Mario J. Scaife of Danville in connection with the case. The Vermilion County State’s Attorney’s Office has charged Scaife with first-degree murder and aggravated battery with a firearm.
The Illinois State Police assisted the Danville Police Department during the investigation by helping process the crime scene and collect evidence.
The investigation remains active, and authorities said no additional information is being released at this time.
