Valparaiso Man Who Repeatedly Called Police Charged with Attempted Murder

Valparaiso, IN – A Valparaiso man, who himself alerted the police multiple times, has been charged with attempted murder. 

According to Valparaiso Police Department reports it happened Monday around 4:00 p.m., they received several calls from an unidentified caller, later identified as Conner Kobold, leading them to a scene of grave violence on Diamond Boulevard.

According to the police, upon arriving at the 1350-block of Diamond Boulevard, officers discovered an unconscious woman with serious injuries at a nearby residence. The victim was promptly transported to a hospital by the Valparaiso Fire Department. As the investigation unfolded, Kobold, 19, emerged as the primary suspect.

Currently detained at the Porter County Jail, Kobold now faces alleged charges of attempted murder, aggravated battery, and strangulation. This incident appears to be an isolated event, with no ongoing threat to the community.
