Salt Lake City, UT – Sunny skies will dominate Thursday in Salt Lake City, but drivers and outdoor enthusiasts should prepare for worsening haze through the weekend. While Thursday’s high will hit a comfortable 52 degrees, air quality concerns may rise as hazy conditions linger into Friday and Saturday.

According to the National Weather Service, calm winds and minimal precipitation will allow haze to settle across the area through Saturday. Those traveling along I-15 or heading outdoors should take precautions, as visibility could be reduced. The low tonight will dip to 31 degrees under clear skies, while Friday brings a near-identical forecast with highs reaching 52 degrees.

By Saturday night, the haze will clear slightly, but increasing clouds may signal a shift in the weather. Rain is expected to move into the region Sunday night, with a slight chance of snow mixing in by early Monday morning. Highs on Sunday will peak at 49 degrees, but a cooling trend into Monday could make Christmas travel tricky.

Next week’s forecast shows an increasing chance of rain and snow as temperatures drop further, with highs in the low 40s by Tuesday. Rainfall Monday night could turn to snow on Christmas morning, impacting roads and holiday plans. Travelers should monitor updates and plan accordingly.

For now, Salt Lake City residents can enjoy calm and sunny conditions today but should stay informed about potential travel hazards in the coming days.
