Winnipeg, MB — An 84-year-old pedestrian died after being struck by a vehicle in Winnipeg’s Westwood neighborhood on Wednesday evening.
The collision occurred around 5:30 p.m. at the intersection of Byrd Avenue and Westwood Drive. According to Winnipeg Police, the elderly man was critically injured and transported to the hospital in unstable condition. Despite medical efforts, he later succumbed to his injuries.
The vehicle’s driver, an 86-year-old man, remained on the scene and cooperated fully with investigators. Police have not filed charges, but the Traffic Division has taken over the case to determine the cause of the collision.
