Clarendon Township, MI – A Utah pilot was forced to make an emergency landing in a Michigan cornfield Wednesday morning after his aircraft suffered engine failure.

The pilot, a 54-year-old man from Moab, Utah, had recently purchased the 1958 Mooney aircraft in Grand Rapids. He was en route to Bryan, Ohio, when the engine malfunctioned. The incident occurred around 10:36 a.m. in the 21000 block of R Drive South, Clarendon Township.
