Salt Lake City, UT – A mix of snow and rain will sweep through northern Utah this weekend, creating slick roads and travel delays. The storm is expected to hit Salt Lake City late Saturday into Sunday, bringing moderate snowfall in the valleys and heavier accumulation in the mountains.
According to the National Weather Service, snow will likely begin late Saturday night, transitioning into rain by Sunday afternoon. Accumulation is expected to be minimal in lower elevations, but mountain passes could see up to six inches of fresh snow. Those traveling along I-80 and I-15 should prepare for potential delays due to icy conditions.
By Monday, a second system will move in, bringing another round of rain mixed with snow in the morning. Temperatures will hover in the mid-40s during the day but drop to the low 30s at night.
Drivers are urged to check road conditions before heading out, as winter weather could impact commutes. The storm will taper off by Tuesday, with drier and slightly warmer weather returning midweek.
