Pittsburgh, PA — The US National Weather Service has updated its severe weather forecast for Tuesday, highlighting potential threats across Eastern Ohio, Western Pennsylvania, and Northern West Virginia. A cold front near Lake Erie is advancing south, bringing with it the possibility of strong to severe storms.

According to the National Weather Service, the probability of severe weather increases between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Tuesday.

Residents in the affected areas should prepare for scattered severe thunderstorms, which could bring damaging winds, large hail, and the possibility of tornadoes.

Additionally, the risk of excessive rainfall may lead to urban flooding, particularly in areas north of I-70.
