Buffalo, NY – A winter system will bring snow to upstate New York on Sunday before transitioning to rain showers early next week.

According to the National Weather Service, a chance of snow showers is expected Sunday morning, mainly before 1 p.m., with less than half an inch of accumulation possible. Snow showers may continue Sunday night with light winds and a low around 27°F.

By Monday, warmer air will mix in, leading to a chance of snow showers in the morning before transitioning to rain. Highs will reach the low 40s, with gusty southwest winds up to 15 mph. Rain showers may persist Monday night and Tuesday as temperatures hover in the upper 30s to low 40s.

Looking ahead, drier weather is expected by midweek, with partly sunny skies and highs nearing 40°F by Thursday. Motorists should prepare for slick roads Sunday into Monday morning before conditions improve.

Stay updated on changing conditions and drive cautiously as temperatures fluctuate between freezing and thawing.
