Marquette, MI – After a brief spell of fall-like weather, residents of Marquette and surrounding areas can look forward to a warmer week. Temperatures are expected to climb steadily, bringing back a touch of summer to Upper Michigan. Highs today will range between 66°F and 76°F, with cooler conditions lingering near Lake Superior. A few scattered showers may affect eastern parts of the Upper Peninsula this morning, but the rest of the week promises dry and warm conditions.

According to the US National Weather Service Marquette Michigan, Monday and Tuesday will see temperatures peaking between 72°F and 83°F, with Monday night lows dropping to 50°F to 60°F, particularly cooler inland. The warming trend is expected to continue throughout the week, providing a welcome reprieve from the recent cooler weather.

However, a high swim risk is in effect for the Lake Superior beaches of Marquette County until noon and for Alger County until 2 PM EDT today. Dangerous currents and life-threatening wave action are anticipated, especially in areas like Middle Bay, McCarty’s Cove, and the Grand Sable Dunes. Residents and visitors are advised to stay out of the water and avoid dangerous areas like piers and break walls.
