Marquette, MI – After a foggy start, residents across Upper Michigan can expect mostly sunny skies Monday with temperatures climbing into the mid-70s to mid-80s, according to the National Weather Service in Marquette.
The warm and dry stretch is expected to persist through Tuesday, with daytime highs ranging from 70 to 86 degrees. Cooler readings will be felt closer to Lake Michigan and in Keweenaw County. Overnight lows will dip into the 50s, with the coldest spots in the eastern part of the region.
According to forecasters, a shift in weather patterns will arrive by midweek. Rain and thunderstorm chances increase Wednesday, when highs are forecast in the low 70s to low 80s. Additional showers are expected Thursday, with cooler daytime highs settling in the low 60s to low 70s.
Travelers and outdoor enthusiasts are advised to take advantage of the calm conditions early in the week before unsettled weather returns. The National Weather Service notes that the quiet stretch will end as the system moves in midweek, bringing potentially stormy conditions back to the region.
