Raleigh, North Carolina — Light rain this morning across central North Carolina is expected to mix with and change to wet snow at times today, according to the National Weather Service in Raleigh.
Forecasters say precipitation will end from west to east during the late afternoon and early evening, with snowfall amounts generally remaining below one inch. Temperatures will be marginally cold enough for some snow accumulation, primarily on grassy and elevated surfaces.
A brief period of all snow may occur in some areas, with around one inch of snow possible in a limited portion of central North Carolina highlighted by the National Weather Service. Even in those areas, impacts are expected to be minor, with little accumulation on roadways.
Residents are advised to remain aware of changing conditions, particularly on bridges, overpasses, and elevated surfaces where slick spots could briefly develop.
