Union County, NC – A Union County man has been arrested following a joint cybercrime investigation into the distribution of child sexual abuse material (CSAM), according to the Union County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities said several CyberTips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children led investigators to a residence in the Waxhaw/Marvin area. Detectives from Union County worked with the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation to identify and locate the suspect, Christopher Hahn.

According to deputies, Hahn was stopped during a traffic investigation and taken into custody in connection with the CyberTips. Further examination allegedly revealed that Hahn used multiple social media platforms to view, download, and purchase CSAM. Digital forensic teams are continuing to review electronic devices seized during the arrest.

Hahn was charged with 10 counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor and initially held on a $300,000 bond. Officials confirmed he has since met the conditions of his release and is no longer in custody.

The investigation remains active as authorities continue to analyze additional evidence recovered during the search.
