Aurora, Ill. — The City of Aurora’s Paramount Theatre announced that its production of the musical “Cats” has been noticed by a global audience. The U.K. theatre critic Mickey-Jo will be making a trip to Aurora, Illinois to see the production live.
Following the online acclaim of the local production, Mickey-Jo along with creators Aeron James and Kate Reinking will attend the show at Aurora’s Paramount Theatre. Mickey-Jo told Paramount that this will be his first visit to Illinois. The group plans to see other shows in the Chicagoland area on their trip.
Mickey-Jo is a London-based theatre critic and social media influencer. He travels globally to critique theatre productions, with over 15 million views on YouTube all-time.
“Cats” the musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber has won seven Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Best Book of a Musical and Best Original Score. The musical has also won a Grammy Award for Best Cast Show Album. The original script was based on the poetry collection “Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats” by T. S. Elliot. The show has been produced on local and global stages since its original debut on Broadway 40 years ago.
The musical production is entering its final week at Paramount Theatre with the final show on June 15. Tickets are still available.
