U.S. Marshals Capture Ohio Fugitive for Alleged Role in Youngstown 12-Year-Old’s Death

Youngstown, OH – A man wanted in connection with the death of a 12-year-old boy has been arrested by U.S. Marshals.

Brandon T. Kennedy, 31, was taken into custody by the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF). He faces charges of aggravated vehicular homicide and aggravated vehicular assault in Youngstown.

According to authorities, Kennedy was driving at a high speed on November 17, 2023, when he failed to stop at a sign. His vehicle struck another car at the intersection of Juanita Avenue and Alameda Avenue. The 12-year-old boy, a passenger in Kennedy’s vehicle, tragically died from the crash.

The Youngstown Police Department issued a warrant for Kennedy. Officers from NOVFTF began their investigation and tracked Kennedy to Girard, OH. He was arrested in the 20 block of Broadview Avenue.

U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott said, “Tragically, a 12-year-old was an innocent victim in this horrific incident.”
