Pinkham’s Grant, N.H. — A two-vehicle crash on New Hampshire Route 16 left one man dead Saturday evening, according to state police.
Just before 6 p.m., Troop F state troopers responded to the crash near 467 Route 16. Police found a 2018 Chevrolet Cruze, driven by Mark Taillon of Gorham, had crossed the double yellow lines. The Cruze collided head-on with a 1999 Chevrolet Suburban, driven by Peter Canty, 77, of Jackson.
Canty was pronounced dead at the scene. Taillon sustained minor injuries.
The New Hampshire State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit led the investigation, assisted by Troop E and local emergency responders. The crash forced a four-hour closure of Route 16 while crews removed debris and cleared the scene.
The Gorham and Jackson Fire Departments, the New Hampshire Department of Transportation, and the Chief Medical Examiner’s Office also responded.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
