Two Juveniles Apprehended Following Walgreens Break-In Attempt in Peoria

Peoria, IL – Two juveniles were arrested late Thursday after allegedly attempting to burglarize a Walgreens in Peoria. The incident occurred at approximately 11:52 p.m. on the 4800 block of N. Sheridan Road, where Peoria Police responded to reports of two individuals damaging the business’s window to gain entry.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers were unable to locate the suspects initially. However, during a search of the area, police found two male juveniles, ages 14 and 13, matching the suspects’ description in the 100 block of W. Northland Avenue. The juveniles attempted to flee on foot but were quickly apprehended and taken into custody.

According to the Peoria Police Department, the 14-year-old was transported to the Juvenile Detention Center, while the 13-year-old was released into the custody of his mother. Both juveniles were charged with Attempted Business Burglary, Criminal Damage to Property, and Obstructing Police.
