Warren County, IN – A months-long investigation into sexual misconduct with a minor has led to the arrests of Richard Lark, 36, from Pine Village, and Megan Vessels, 32, from Fowler. The investigation, which began in December 2024, involved several agencies including the Indiana State Police Lafayette District Bureau of Investigations.

In late December, Warren County Sheriff’s Office detectives received a tip about possible sexual misconduct involving a minor, prompting them to request assistance from state police. According to authorities, a search warrant was executed at Lark’s residence in Pine Village in December, where detectives discovered further evidence. Lark was taken into custody at the scene and transported to the Warren County Jail.

As the investigation continued, authorities learned that Vessels had been transporting the minor to and from Lark’s residence, allegedly aware that sexual relations were taking place. On April 10, 2025, troopers located and arrested Vessels in a separate operation, taking her into custody without incident.

The following preliminary charges were filed:

  • Richard Lark (Pine Village, 36):
    1. Sexual Misconduct with a Minor – Level 4 Felony (5 Counts)
    2. Child Exploitation – Level 5 Felony
    3. Possession of Child Pornography – Level 6 Felony (3 Counts)
  • Megan Vessels (Fowler, 32):
    1. Promotion of Sexual Trafficking of a Younger Child – Level 3 Felony

During the investigation, additional assistance was provided by other troopers from the Lafayette Post, the Warren County Sheriff’s Office, Benton County Sheriff’s Office, and the Fowler Police Department. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
