Minneapolis, Minnesota – An air quality alert remains in effect for the Twin Cities through Friday evening as dry weather and comfortable temperatures continue across much of Minnesota. Highs will sit in the low to mid-80s today and Friday before humidity surges this weekend.

According to the National Weather Service Twin Cities, rain chances increase slightly Saturday with a 20% chance of storms, followed by a 30% chance on Sunday as temperatures climb into the upper 80s and low 90s. Storms are expected to remain scattered, but any weekend downpour could be accompanied by gusty winds and lightning.

Across Minneapolis, St. Paul, and surrounding suburbs, residents are urged to limit outdoor activity through Friday due to elevated ozone levels. Those with respiratory issues, older adults, and children should take precautions. Meanwhile, cities including Rochester, Mankato, and St. Cloud will also see rising dew points by Sunday, making conditions feel more oppressive.

Locals should stay hydrated, avoid strenuous outdoor work during peak heat hours, and prepare for brief weekend delays due to weather-related slowdowns.

Storm chances and high humidity will persist into early next week as temperatures remain near 90 degrees. Additional advisories may be issued if conditions worsen.
