Twin Cities, MN – The US National Weather Service Twin Cities warns of dangerously cold conditions this Thursday morning as wind chills plunge between -15°F and -25°F across much of southern and central Minnesota and western Wisconsin.
The coldest readings are expected between 6 a.m. and 9 a.m., with locations such as Marshall, Redwood Falls, and Fairmont seeing the most extreme values near -25°F. Even in the Twin Cities metro, wind chills are ranging from -10°F to -15°F through late morning.
Officials urge residents to dress in layers, cover all exposed skin, and limit time outdoors. Prolonged exposure can quickly lead to frostbite on exposed skin in these temperatures.
Temperatures are expected to rise modestly into the single digits and lower teens this afternoon before another frigid night ahead.
