Cassopolis, MI – A two-vehicle collision early Wednesday in Cass County left one driver hospitalized and another treated at the scene, authorities said.

According to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded around 4:20 a.m. to a crash at the intersection of Pine Lake Street and Dailey Road in Jefferson Township. The incident involved two drivers traveling in opposing directions when one turned into the path of the other.

Investigators said Melissa Finley, 58, of Edwardsburg, was traveling south on Dailey Road and attempted to turn east onto Pine Lake Street when her vehicle collided with another traveling northbound. That vehicle was driven by Jenna Wilson, 27, of Cassopolis.

Finley was treated at the scene and released. Wilson was transported by ambulance to South Bend Memorial Hospital for injuries sustained in the crash. It remains unclear whether seat belts were in use by either driver.

Assisting at the scene were the Edwardsburg Ontwa Police Department, SMCAS Ambulance, and the Edwardsburg Fire Department.

The crash remains under investigation by the Cass County Sheriff’s Office.
