Lockport, IL – A section of State Street in Lockport will be temporarily closed Friday evening to accommodate the annual Old Canal Days Parade, prompting a traffic alert for area drivers.
According to the Lockport Police Department, State Street will be shut down from Thornton Street to Division Street between 5:20 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Friday, June 6. The closure will also include the intersection at 9th Street and State Street, impacting a major thoroughfare in the downtown area.

Local businesses and emergency services have been notified of the temporary closures. Drivers traveling through the area are encouraged to check for updates via official city and police department social media channels.
🎉 “We thank you for your cooperation and enjoy the parade!” the Lockport Police Department shared in their announcement.
