York, Nebraska – An Arizona man was arrested in Nebraska after troopers discovered nearly 20 pounds of suspected fentanyl pills and methamphetamine during a traffic stop on Interstate 80.

According to the Nebraska State Patrol, the stop occurred Friday at approximately 3:10 p.m. near York. A trooper pulled over a Nissan Altima that was speeding while traveling eastbound on I-80. During the stop, an NSP K9 alerted to the presence of a controlled substance in the vehicle.

A search of the car revealed around 19 pounds of suspected fentanyl pills and approximately 5 pounds of suspected methamphetamine, packaged and concealed within the vehicle.

The driver, identified as 36-year-old Thomas Henry of Williams, Arizona, was arrested and charged with possession of controlled substances and possession with intent to deliver. He was booked into the York County Jail.

Officials say the seized substances are consistent with narcotics involved in recent overdose trends across the region. The case remains under investigation.
