Tinley Park, IL – Commuters in Tinley Park are facing a temporary road closure as crews work to repair potholes on a busy stretch of Oak Park Avenue.
According to the Village of Tinley Park Public Safety, the Oak Park Avenue overpass at Interstate 80 will remain closed until 6 p.m. Saturday while the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) performs maintenance.
IDOT crews began work earlier today to address pothole damage on the overpass, prompting the full closure of Oak Park at the I-80 interchange. Drivers are advised to use alternate routes and expect delays in the area as traffic is rerouted during the maintenance period.
The closure is part of IDOT’s ongoing initiative to improve roadway safety and infrastructure throughout the region. Local officials are encouraging drivers to plan ahead and allow for additional travel time during the closure.
