Lowell, IN — Two Lake County juveniles face felony charges after allegedly making threats about school shootings this week.

On Sunday, a Lake County Sheriff’s officer was alerted to a TikTok comment by a 14-year-old girl from Gary. The girl allegedly posted a threat related to a school shooting. She admitted to making a comment but said it wasn’t about a specific school or student. Relatives confirmed she had mentioned the comment to them. The FBI had already tracked the post to the girl’s Gary residence. Authorities have since banned the account from TikTok.

On Monday, Lake County officers responded to a Lowell school after an 11-year-old Hebron boy allegedly made a shooting threat. The boy had reportedly made a comment on the school bus saying, “ABCD Glock 19 shoot up the school. Act like a fool.” He explained to officers it was a joke with a rhyme.

Both juveniles face felony intimidation charges.
