Jackson, KY – Eastern Kentucky will see a stormy Sunday as a cold front passes through, bringing showers and thunderstorms to the region. The highest storm chances are expected in areas close to Virginia, while more northern regions, such as those near I-64, may experience the lowest storm activity. Today’s weather will be mostly cloudy, with temperatures ranging from 77 to 84 degrees, creating a potentially hazardous environment for outdoor activities.

According to the US National Weather Service in Jackson, the weather will shift dramatically after today. As we transition into meteorological fall, cooler and drier air will dominate the weather for Labor Day, providing clear and sunny skies with temperatures between 76 and 81 degrees. Residents are encouraged to enjoy outdoor festivities, as these favorable conditions will only last through Tuesday.

By midweek, another disturbance is forecasted to bring a renewed threat of rain, primarily affecting areas near Lake Cumberland on Wednesday and closer to Tennessee on Thursday. Keep an umbrella handy and stay updated with local forecasts to adjust your plans accordingly.
