Detroit, MI – The National Weather Service has highlighted that isolated thunderstorms are likely this afternoon through early tonight. These storms may bring damaging wind gusts up to 60 mph, along with locally heavy rainfall, posing a risk of localized flooding.

Residents should be prepared for the most significant storm activity between 3 PM and 8 PM as a low-pressure system moves into the Great Lakes region. The storm motion is expected to travel from the southwest to the northeast at 35 mph, impacting areas including Detroit, Ann Arbor, and surrounding communities.

The unsettled weather will persist into the weekend, with Saturday and Sunday bringing additional periods of showers and thunderstorms. Temperatures will range from the upper 70s to low 80s during the day, cooling off into the mid-60s overnight. Conditions are expected to improve early next week as drier air moves in, with more seasonable temperatures returning.

Residents should remain vigilant, have multiple ways to receive weather alerts, and be prepared for any sudden changes in the forecast. Keep an eye on local updates and take necessary precautions to stay safe during this period of active weather.
