Wilmington, OH – Rain and cooler temperatures are forecast to impact much of Ohio beginning Tuesday, with travel disruptions likely later this week. The National Weather Service warns that a system moving through the region could bring a mix of rain and snow by Wednesday night.
According to the National Weather Service in Wilmington, temperatures will drop from Monday’s highs in the upper 50s to the mid-40s on Tuesday. A chance of rain persists through Tuesday night as winds shift, creating cooler conditions across central Ohio, including areas along I-71.
By Wednesday afternoon, a stronger weather system is expected to bring widespread rain, with a potential transition to snow in some areas overnight. Precipitation rates could impact travel, particularly for those heading out for Thanksgiving on Thursday. Highs on Thanksgiving Day are projected to reach only the low 40s, with lingering rain possible.
Motorists are advised to monitor updates and use caution, especially along major routes like I-71 and US-68. Overnight lows this week will dip into the 20s, heightening the risk of slick roadways.
Looking ahead, sunny skies return by Friday, with daytime highs in the upper 30s to low 40s. However, a chance of snow could develop late Saturday, bringing wintry weather into the weekend.
Plan travel accordingly and stay tuned for updates as the forecast evolves.
