Dallas, TX – The National Weather Service has extended an Excessive Heat Warning for the Dallas-Fort Worth area until 9 PM Thursday. Temperatures could reach 110 degrees, with heat index values as high as 113 degrees. A Heat Advisory is in effect for surrounding regions, predicting indices up to 109 degrees.

Residents should take extra precautions to avoid heat-related illnesses. Officials advise drinking plenty of water, avoiding outdoor activities, and wearing lightweight, light-colored clothing. Spending time in air-conditioned spaces is highly recommended.

An Ozone Action Day has also been issued for Thursday, signaling high levels of pollution. The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality urges residents to reduce ozone production by carpooling and conserving energy.

The extended forecast shows a continuation of intense heat, with highs of 102 degrees expected Friday and 99 degrees on Saturday. Conditions may slightly improve early next week, but temperatures will remain in the upper 90s.

Heat-related illnesses are a significant concern, so staying cool and hydrated is essential for safety during this extreme weather event.
