Texas – Headlights glow through a gray haze along the coast this morning as fog presses low over streets and shorelines. Moist air hugs the ground, softening skylines and shrinking visibility fast. Drivers sense it immediately as familiar landmarks fade just ahead.

According to the National Weather Service in Corpus Christi, areas of fog developed early across South Texas with visibility generally between one and four miles. Some pockets briefly dropped to a quarter mile or less. The advisory includes Nueces, San Patricio, Kleberg, Aransas, Refugio, and surrounding coastal counties.

In Corpus Christi, damp air and calm winds create classic February fog conditions. Travel slows along U.S. 181, SH 35, and neighborhood roads near bays and inlets. Motorists are urged to use low-beam headlights, allow extra distance, and stay alert for sudden changes.

As the morning progresses, fog gradually thins. Sunshine returns by late morning, and temperatures rebound quickly into the upper 60s. A light southeast breeze develops, helping clear remaining haze near the water. For now, coastal commuters should expect patchy low visibility through mid-morning.

Tonight turns mostly cloudy and noticeably milder, with lows staying near 61. Tuesday brings a brighter, warmer feel, with highs climbing into the low 70s and a gentle breeze off the Gulf. Conditions stay dry, but lingering moisture keeps early-day haze possible in low spots.

By Wednesday, a quieter winter pattern settles in. Partly sunny skies and highs near 66 dominate, followed by cooler nights in the upper 40s. Thursday and Friday trend warmer again, with sunshine pushing highs into the 60s and near 70 by the weekend.

Looking ahead to the Feb 6–8 stretch, signs point to above-normal warmth returning to South Texas. Until then, slow down during foggy drives and stay weather-aware near the coast. Seeing thick fog where you are this morning?
