Fort Worth, TX – A strong thunderstorm is moving through North Texas early Saturday morning, bringing the potential for penny-size hail and gusty winds. The storm is expected to impact parts of Tarrant, Parker, Johnson, and Hood counties until 6 a.m. CST.
According to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth, Doppler radar tracked the storm near Granbury at 5:12 a.m., moving northeast at 50 mph. The storm could cause minor damage to outdoor objects as it moves through the region.
Residents in affected areas should expect the storm to reach Granbury by 5:15 a.m., Godley by 5:30 a.m., and Fort Worth, Burleson, and Crowley by 5:40 a.m. Additional communities, including Edgecliff Village, Rendon, and Everman, may experience impacts by 5:50 a.m.
Motorists should exercise caution, as the storm may affect portions of major highways, including Interstate 35W between mile markers 30 and 47, Interstate 20 between mile markers 421 and 437, and Interstate 30 between mile markers 1 and 13.
Residents in the storm’s path should seek shelter indoors and secure outdoor items. While no severe warnings are in effect, the potential for hail and sudden gusts warrants caution.
