The National Weather Service has issued a weather alert for both San Antonio and Austin, with a focus on the Hill Country and I-35 corridor, where large hail and damaging winds could pose significant risks.

According to the National Weather Service, storm activity will begin late Friday, with the highest chances of severe weather between 5 PM and 10 PM. The threat for heavy rainfall, large hail, and high winds will continue overnight, peaking between 10 PM and 3 AM on Saturday. By Saturday morning, storms are expected to impact areas from 2 AM to 7 AM, before tapering off by 10 AM.

Residents are urged to prepare for potentially hazardous conditions, including the possibility of power outages, tree damage, and travel disruptions. The storm’s primary risks include large hail, damaging winds, and frequent lightning. Drivers are advised to remain cautious on the roads, especially Friday night into Saturday morning.
