Houston, TX – Residents across southeast Texas will feel a sharp drop in temperatures tonight as lows sink into the mid-30s. Those venturing out this evening should bundle up as north winds will add to the chill.

According to the National Weather Service, daytime highs today will peak near 58°F under mostly sunny skies, but the temperature will plummet after sunset. Overnight, areas north of Houston may dip close to freezing, with the metro area settling into the low 40s. Winds will shift slightly to the northeast by morning, keeping conditions dry for now.

Tuesday will bring partly sunny skies and milder highs near 54°F, but clouds will increase in the evening. By Wednesday, a 20% chance of light rain showers moves in, leading to a pattern of increasing moisture through the week. Temperatures will climb slightly midweek, with highs in the upper 50s on Thursday and a stronger chance of rain Friday at 50%.

Drivers should stay alert for wet road conditions later in the week, particularly on I-45 and surrounding major routes during peak hours.

Looking ahead, cooler air will follow the rain this weekend, with highs in the low 50s Saturday. Residents are encouraged to prepare for variable weather by dressing in layers and monitoring local forecasts for updates on potential storms later in the week.
