San Antonio, TX – A burst of summer-like heat will grip Texas this week, with San Antonio pushing 90°F by Monday and storms on the horizon.

According to the National Weather Service, Monday will be mostly sunny with highs near 88°F. By Tuesday, temperatures are forecast to reach 91°F, setting up a sharp contrast ahead of a potential midweek cooldown. Isolated showers may develop late Tuesday, with stronger storm activity likely starting Wednesday night.

A 40 percent chance of thunderstorms moves in Wednesday evening, with the best chance for rainfall and lightning between 7 p.m. and midnight. South-central Texas drivers—especially along the I-35 corridor—should stay alert for slick roads during the evening commute. Wind gusts up to 20 mph may also impact travel.

Thursday and Friday bring the highest chances for significant rainfall, with up to 80 percent probability of showers and storms. Daytime highs will range between 74°F and 82°F during this period, offering a brief break from the early spring heat.

Residents should monitor local alerts and secure outdoor items ahead of possible gusty winds. While severe weather isn’t guaranteed, spring in Texas often brings quick shifts and unexpected developments.

Looking ahead to the weekend, drier and warmer conditions are expected to return by Saturday, with sunny skies and highs in the upper 80s.
