Dallas, Texas – Severe storms may roll into North and Central Texas early next week, bringing the potential for heavy rain, lightning, and possible severe weather by Tuesday.

According to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth, after a sunny and dry weekend with highs in the mid-70s, rain chances rise sharply starting Monday evening. By Tuesday, Dallas–Fort Worth and Waco–Temple–Killeen could see a 70% to 80% chance of thunderstorms, some of which could be strong.

Communities along I-35, including Fort Worth, Arlington, Killeen, and Temple, should prepare for potential travel delays, localized flooding, and brief power outages. While Monday will begin with partly cloudy skies and highs in the upper 70s, conditions will deteriorate quickly into Tuesday morning.

Residents are urged to secure outdoor items this weekend and review severe weather plans. Charging mobile devices and staying weather-aware through official channels like weather.gov or NOAA Weather Radio is advised.

Storm activity may linger through Wednesday, with a 50–60% chance of rain continuing midweek. Additional watches or warnings could be issued as the system develops.
