San Angelo, TX – A severe thunderstorm warning remains in effect until 3:15 a.m. CST for southeastern Coke, northeastern Tom Green, southern Runnels, and northwestern Concho counties, with damaging winds and hail posing a significant threat to the region.
According to the National Weather Service in San Angelo, the storm was located over Wall at 2:50 a.m., moving east at 45 mph. Radar indicated wind gusts reaching 70 mph and nickel-size hail. Residents in Vancourt, Eola, and Mereta are in the storm’s projected path and should take immediate precautions.
The storm is expected to cause considerable tree damage and may result in structural damage to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings. Additional impacted areas include Ballinger Lake, Vick, Harriet, and several key intersections along Ranch Roads 1929, 2134, 380, and 381, as well as U.S. Highway 83.
A Tornado Watch remains in effect for west-central Texas until 5 a.m. CST. Residents are urged to seek shelter in an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building.
