San Angelo saw a significant rainfall total of 3.19 inches overnight, making it the wettest location in west-central Texas, according to the National Weather Service. The rainfall, which fell across the region from late Monday to early Tuesday, provided much-needed moisture to the area, with several other cities also reporting impressive totals.

According to the National Weather Service, areas in the region saw a mix of rainfall amounts, with San Angelo topping the list, followed by Mertzon with 1.81 inches, and Wall with 1.82 inches. In addition, communities such as Brownwood/Early (1.35 inches), Clyde (1.48 inches), and Grape Creek (1.42 inches) also recorded substantial rainfall. Abilene, though not as heavily affected, reported 0.80 inches.

This rainfall was crucial for local agriculture, as drought conditions have impacted much of the region in recent months. The rain’s arrival was seen as a welcome relief for farmers and ranchers. However, travelers should remain cautious on roads, especially in areas with heavier rainfall like San Angelo and surrounding towns, where wet conditions could impact visibility and road safety.

With more rain expected across the region, residents are advised to stay informed and be prepared for any further weather-related updates.
