Amarillo, TX – Light snow could briefly dust parts of the northeastern Texas Panhandle early Monday, but any accumulation is expected to be minimal and short-lived.
According to the National Weather Service in Amarillo, a narrow band from Perryton to Canadian has a 10–20% chance of seeing precipitation between 12 a.m. and 12 p.m. Monday. Most areas won’t see any snow, but in isolated spots, a dusting is possible. In the very unlikely event snow does accumulate, totals could approach a half-inch in far northeastern counties like Hemphill and Lipscomb.
No major travel disruptions are expected, but drivers in areas like Beaver and Perryton should stay alert for early morning slick spots, particularly on elevated roadways and bridges. The combination of below-freezing overnight temperatures and light precipitation could create brief hazards around dawn.
This is a low-confidence, low-impact system, and forecasters say additional alerts are unlikely unless conditions shift significantly. Any snow that does fall will taper off by midday Monday.
