Fort Worth, TX – A brief but sharp cold snap is expected across the Texas Panhandle and western North Texas tonight, with temperatures in Cisco, Graham, and Gainesville likely to dip to or just below freezing.
According to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth, rural and low-lying areas west of U.S. 281 have the highest risk for freezing temperatures, with a 60–90% chance of overnight lows hitting 32°F. A Freeze Warning and Frost Advisory remain in effect for parts of the western counties, including areas near Bowie, Breckenridge, and Cisco.
Frost development is likely through Monday morning, and residents are urged to protect sensitive plants and vegetation. Areas around the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex are expected to remain slightly warmer, with lows around 37°F.
Following this chilly night, North and Central Texas will shift into a warm and pleasant spring pattern. Highs will climb into the 70s and 80s by Tuesday and remain there through Saturday across major cities like Dallas, Waco, and Killeen.
The week is expected to be rain-free statewide. Residents should take precautions tonight but can prepare for a stretch of mild, dry weather—ideal for outdoor activities and travel across the region.
