According to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth, an 80% chance of showers and thunderstorms will develop by late Monday afternoon and last into the overnight hours. Some of the storms may be strong enough to produce localized flooding and dangerous lightning. Afternoon highs will reach 87°F, but conditions will become increasingly unstable after 4 p.m.
Gusty winds up to 20 mph are expected Monday night as the storms continue. Rainfall totals may exceed 2 inches in some areas, especially in low-lying and flood-prone zones.
