Austin, TX – Texas residents along the I-35 Corridor and Coastal Plains should prepare for another blistering day as the National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a heat advisory for Sunday. With temperatures expected to soar between 100°F and 104°F, the heat index—how hot it actually feels when humidity is factored in—could reach a scorching 112°F in some areas.

According to the NWS, the advisory is in effect from noon until 8 p.m., urging residents to take necessary precautions. The regions most affected include Austin, San Antonio, New Braunfels, and surrounding counties. On Sunday, the heat index will particularly impact areas east of the I-35 Corridor, where temperatures are expected to be at their peak.

Residents are advised to stay indoors during the hottest part of the day, drink plenty of water, and check on elderly neighbors or those without air conditioning. Outdoor activities should be limited or rescheduled to avoid heat exhaustion or heat stroke, which can occur rapidly in such extreme conditions.
