Fort Worth, Texas – Scorching heat and stifling humidity will grip Fort Worth starting Tuesday, with a summer weather alert issued as heat index values approach 101° by the afternoon. The National Weather Service warns that even brief outdoor activity during peak hours could result in heat stress or dehydration.

According to the NWS Dallas/Fort Worth office, a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms lingers through 1 p.m. Tuesday, but skies will turn partly sunny with a high of 94°. The heat index will spike in the early afternoon, followed by calmer, drier air into midweek. Tuesday night will bring mostly clear skies and a low near 78°, offering little overnight relief.

Wednesday through Friday, highs will remain in the mid-90s, with mostly sunny skies and light winds — but humidity will keep conditions sticky. Winds pick up slightly on Thursday and Friday, gusting up to 20 mph in the afternoons.

Looking ahead to the July 4th weekend, Fort Worth will see dry, hot conditions. Independence Day brings a high near 95° with partly sunny skies and continued breezes. No rain is expected, which bodes well for fireworks displays but raises wildfire and heat safety concerns.

⚠️ More advisories may be issued if temperatures climb further by Friday or Saturday.
