Lubbock, TX – Voters in Lubbock can look forward to sunny skies and mild temperatures for Election Day, with highs reaching around 66 degrees. Clear, dry conditions will persist throughout the day, creating an ideal environment for heading to the polls. However, tonight will bring colder temperatures, with lows dropping to around 41 degrees, so residents are encouraged to layer up if heading out this evening.

According to the National Weather Service in Lubbock, skies will remain mostly clear tonight as temperatures dip into the 30s and 40s across the Texas Panhandle. Tomorrow, Wednesday, is forecasted to be warmer, with highs near 69 degrees. However, rain is expected to move in by late Wednesday night, bringing with it a 70% chance of showers that could persist into Thursday. This rain system will likely be accompanied by a cold front, dropping Thursday’s high to around 48 degrees, with increased wind gusts adding a chill to the air.

The weather becomes more unsettled as the week progresses. Thursday night carries an 80% chance of showers, with thunderstorms possible, and Friday may bring additional rain in the morning before skies clear by the afternoon. Daytime temperatures on Friday will be cooler, reaching only 53 degrees, with lows that night near 37.

Looking ahead, sunny conditions are expected to return on Saturday with a high near 64, offering residents a brief respite from the rain and chill. However, residents should prepare for potential temperature shifts and keep an eye on the forecast, as the Texas Panhandle often experiences rapid weather changes this time of year.
