Falls City, TX – A magnitude 3.4 earthquake occurred just south-southwest of Falls City, Texas, late Sunday night. The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) reported that the quake struck at 10:13 p.m. local time. Residents in the area, including those near San Antonio, may have felt the tremor.

According to USGS data, the earthquake’s epicenter was located 15 kilometers from Falls City at a depth of 2.8 kilometers, making it relatively shallow. Shallow earthquakes are often felt more strongly than deeper ones. While the quake was moderate, no significant damage has been reported in the area.

The USGS encourages residents to submit a “Felt Report” if they experienced the shaking. These reports help scientists better understand the intensity and spread of the quake. Falls City, located between San Antonio and Corpus Christi, is not known for frequent seismic activity, making this event notable.

No injuries have been reported, but authorities will continue to monitor the situation. Texas experiences occasional earthquakes, though most are relatively small.
